Step One
First punch out one 2" circle, two ¾" circles, and one 1½" oval from light brown card stock.
Then one ¾" and two ½" circles from dark brown cardstock. Ink around each shape with chalk ink on a dawber.
Set aside to dry completely. |
|
Step Two
Next you need to affix the muzzle to the head.
Put a small strip of double sided tape on the back of the dark brown ¾" circle and place at the bottom of the light brown oval, allowing a small overhang. |
 |
 |
Step Three
This needs to be trimmed off, so that the muzzle sits evenly with the bottom of the oval.
Re-ink the bottom edge of the muzzle to give it definition.
|
|
Step Four
The face now has to be drawn in on the oval and the muzzle. Simple 'stitching' can be drawn down the centre of both, and a small triangular nose drawn in at the top of the muzzle.
The eyes can be placed just at either side of the nose or further apart around the muzzle. Different expressions occur with the placement of the eyes. |

 |
Step Five Next, affix the two smaller dark brown circles to the centres of the light brown circles. They should be placed slightly off-centre to give the illusion of inner ears.
|
|
Step Six
A thin strip of double sided tape should be placed at the back of the top of the bears head, to affix the ears to.
Before sticking them together, place the ears down on your craft mat and the head on top of them, and move them around until you get them exactly where you want them to be.
Then simply lift the head, and remove the backing tape, then replace the head, and the ears will be where you wanted them to be.

Step Seven
Place an inch of foam tape behind the head of your bear and then attach it to the body circle. I always place the head on a slight angle to give a more 'inquisitive' look to the animal.
The completed animal can now be placed on your card or your gift tag.

Step Eight
The completed animal can now be placed on your card or your gift tag and decorated with small ephemera.
